News from Luàn
I have left Big Bang! I have even left Luàn!
Right now I am in Malaysia, recovering from these stressful months and awaiting for news to arrive.
My stay in the Capital was nice and short. I spent two days in the office tormenting the coworkers. By the end of the second day my paperwork was finally processed / stamped. Once I had the paperwork in my hands, I booked my one way ticket out of Luàn.
It felt really good to sit in the terminal the next morning, sipping my favorite kind of mixed coffee and knowing that I am free and that my ride was leaving in just an hour!
I was able to welcome the New Year in Malaysia, and so far I am enjoying. I will be recovering all the patience that I have lost in these past months and making sure that I shall have a little extra patience, just in case another "drought" period appears.
I wish you all a Happy New Year, good health and good luck!
Until next time!

This is it! I am leaving Ultimate Destination today. In just a few hours I shall be on a spaceship flying to the Capital.
I am not sure how long I will stay in the Capital, since the paperwork has not even been typed as of Friday, but my mission is to torment the coworkers until they hand it over to me signed and stamped, as per this galaxy's tradition.
Until next time!

Actually, it is me who is out! I have officially resigned today.
During the past weeks not much has happened around here. Our paychecks have not arrived, more promises were made by THE director, and of course these were not kept.
Of course I have been playing with these thoughts for a few weeks now, but after witnessing the torture that a compadre of mine had to go through just to get a simple letter, I decided that I have had enough.
All this sitting around waiting and wishing and hoping that we would get clerance / fuel / airplane (insert as you wish) to go fly has challenged me and my compadres everyday. Sadly enough I ran out of patience after doing this for nine months.
So this is over for me. Of course things will not be easy. I still have to wait for the formalities to be finalized and this could take another eternity.
On to the better things: I have a pretty good chance at the Commander position. Just a little bit more of patience and I will have a final answer.
And if it does not work out, I will move to a different galaxy, where I have already established contact for a position.
Until next time!

My licenses have arrived... one by one... and of course with the due chaos!
Now that I am officially (on the papers) a Luànese instructor, the airport has decided that they need to inspect the runway for three days, which means that we won't be flying. Ain't that great!?!
Rumors has it, that we already have a new investor, but our salaries are late again.
Life is beautiful!
Until next time!

After a one week absence I am back in Ultimate Destination. Today is my first "work" day and as usual I have the pleasure to come upon chaos.
Before leaving I had taken care of the appropriate paperwork just to find out today that it was not submitted due to some idiotic reason.
Of course this has caused problems with the superiors because apparently I am one of the few hitchhikers left with the license to fly the spaceships.
At this point the superiors are in a rush to get me flying, but thanks to the stereotypical behavior of the Big Bang employee it may not happen for another week or two.
In the mean time we are all awaiting feverishly an answer from the possible investors.
As for me, I am still on the call list for a Commander position. Apparently it is just a matter of time now.
Until next time!

As the second deadline approaches, we are starting to see some changes around here.
Mr Cleans' friends resigned yesterday. Two down, one to go!
We were also called in to take the spaceships out for walks. We shall see if that actually happens!
In just a few days the bid will end, and then we will know if there is a new investor and new money coming in.
If by Monday nothing happens, then we are all free to go. But if they are successful, then I must rethink my situation.
Until next time:
Happy landings!

Big Bang (or shall I say THE director of Big Bang) met the first deadline. It was at 23:45 when the last hitchhiker received his pay. I'd say that it was pretty damn close!
This is how business is done here. Leave everything until the last minute!

Friday was a big day for the hitchhikers. After establishing contact with THE director on Thursday, we met on Friday to discuss the items that would needed to be brought up during the negotiation with THE director. It is the first time during this year that all the hitchhikers were able to unite and agree on the items of the agenda.
THE director was kind enough to fly to Ultimate Destination on Saturday and sit down with us.
After extensive negotiation, I must say, it was a defeat. THE director, like any other good bussinesmen, made promises and came up with excuses about the missing salaries and additional reimbursements, and tried to keep us calm. He admited that no one can guarantee that this company will stay open for much longer.
The first deadline that he has to comply with is the 31st of this month. If he fullfils his promises, then he has another 30 days to comply with the other items on our agenda, otherwise he will receive resignation letters from each and everyone of the hitchhikers currently employed.
The company will not survive if we all leave.
[FYI: They are trying to get new investors involved in the company and sell it as a whole package. If the "international" department disappears then they will not be able to sell it as such and it would force them to things I won't describe in detail.]
As for me, my heart is set on leaving. I have a couple of options available and the wheels are turning already. In a few months time I will report from a different universe, or maybe even galaxy.
Until next time:
Happy landings!

Three hitchhikers from the other base Fly-a-lot have resigned today.
This ship is sinking and it is sinking fast!
The other hitchhikers are thinking about hiring law professionals due to the current conditions (missing salaries, housing allowances, reimbursements and insurance) and the ongoing lies received by management. Contact has been established with THE director of this fantastic place and a meeting has been set up for tomorrow morning in a non-company location. It has been a wonderful morning of fights and arguments and everyone is fearing the worst.
All this might eventually turn up to be an interesting documentary on human behavior!
Now, where did I leave my video camera???
Until next time:
Happy landings!

Nothing much has changed around here. Work has been nothing but trouble, the colleagues are back stabbing each other and I am doing the countdown for my vacation. Just a few more days and I will be off to enjoy this thing that's called life!
Until next time!
